Use the first 90 days or so of your business to get really clear on who you want to serve and how you would like to work and start hustling HARD! [Click to Tweet]

The Best Advice from Leading Business Coaches for Women Entrepreneurs building a Successful Business: Use the first 90 days or so of your business to get really clear on who you want to serve and how you would like to work and start hustling HARD! Erica Duran

Sounds like shameless self-promotion, but I really do believe that the best thing you can do is invest in coaching with a mentor who is living the type of lifestyle that you want for yourself. That is what changed everything for me. But, aside from that…. The most valuable piece of advice I could give entrepreneurs is to not get caught up in their website, logo, blogging, business cards, etc. Use the first 90 days or so of your business to get really clear on who you want to serve and how you would like to work and start hustling HARD! Book as many clients as you can. Connect with as many people as you can and build relationships. After this first initial push, everything else will fall into place and you won’t be so worried about your cash flow.

The Best Advice from Leading Business Coaches for Women Entrepreneurs building a Successful Business: Success is not only financial - particularly for Mothers. Instead it's a life lived in alignment with those things that have the deepest meaning for you. -Deborah Tutnauer | MothersJoint.com

What I offer my clients in the way of advice, is different from many entrepreneur coaches. I base it on my own top values related to authenticity and the true measures of success. I guide my clients to always honor their own values and to imbue their business with their own authentic stories. Success is not only financial - particularly for Moms. Instead it's a life lived in alignment with those things that have the deepest meaning for you. It's being able to choose to put work aside and have a tea party with your child. It's offering a product or service that brings to others something that helps them in areas where they are most frustrated or challenged. Building a successful business requires that you wake up each morning inspired to get to work. It may not be easy. In fact it's usually not. But if your business resonates deeply within your core, you are then spending your hours in alignment. You'll be happier. You'll have more energy. You'll be more apt to grow a successful business.

About Deborah: Inspiring change in people for over 25 years, Deborah Tutnauer, MEd, MSW digs deep to help authentic entrepreneurs move away from the stories that no longer serve them while clarifying and solidifying those that really do! Deborah helps frustrated entrepreneurs get exquisitely clear about meaning, purpose and expertise, then facilitates the creation of a financially sustainable and joyfully structured framework in which business and business people thrive. If you create a secret business, you are highly unlikely to get discovered or get any sales. Visibility is the only way forward. The key is to embrace the things that make you unique and find the platform that works best for you, and finally, be consistent - keep doing it. [Click to Tweet]

The Best Advice from Leading Business Coaches for Women Entrepreneurs building a Successful Business: If you create a secret business, you are highly unlikely to get discovered or get any sales. Visibility is the only way forward. The key is to embrace the things that make you unique and find the platform that works best for you, and finally, be consistent - keep doing it. - Nadia Finer | MothersJoint.com

I used to hide behind my business. Oh yes. You couldn’t have spotted me even with a human size magnifying glass and some very strong varifocals. But, the thing is, if you’re invisible, your business will be too! Put it this way…. if you create a secret business. you are highly unlikely to get discovered or get any sales.

Visibility is the only way forward, if you want to grow your business. For many of us being visible is scary. I know it was for me.
I used to be invisible, aside from a tiny photo of me on my about page. Then I would sit back, feeling all safe and cosseted behind the front I’d created and just hope things would fall into my lap. It was a slow process, believe me! Make a video? Forget it! Do a webinar? No way!

But, since I made the decision to be more visible in my business, things are really happening.

What did I do?

I created a personal brand, with my website as my name. I embraced the fact that I have a little voice, instead of keeping my lips firmly sealed. I even went as far as to launch a podcast - with my little voice laid bare.

Now I connect with people about my work and share my point of view in my own way. I'm out there. I am Little Voice Big Business.

If I can get the guts to get out there and be visible then you can too.  The key is to embrace the things that make you unique and find the platform that works best for you, and finally, be consistent - keep doing it - don't just go for it like crazy for a week and then give up.

Soon enough people will start to notice you and when they get to know you a little, they like you and trust you, they're more likely to want to by from you.

About Nadia: My name is Nadia Finer, and I specialise in strategy and support for start-ups and solopreneurs. I believe in action; positive, irrefutable, forward-moving action… even when the odds are stacked against you. Some call me the success whisperer and with me on your side, you’ll finally be able to turn your business dreams into a reality. I work with private coaching clients all over the world and I run a butt kicking inner circle called the Actionista Academy. Check out my podcast Little Voice Big Business for a regular dose of business inspiration and advice at NadiaFiner.com

The Best Advice from Leading Business Coaches for Women Entrepreneurs building a Successful Business: You don’t need fancy tools, a huge list or the latest technology. But you do need to become brave about asking for sales and referrals. - Kyla Roma | MothersJoint.com

I love blogging and social media, but you can spend lots of time on them feeling busy without making an impact on your business. To have a business that will create freedom in your life, you need to make sure the numbers make sense on paper, find a compelling way to talk about it that’s focused on what your audience needs, and then ask people to consider working with you.

Your focus has to be on making sales and getting clients first when you’re building a business. You don’t need fancy tools, a huge list or the latest technology. But you do need to become brave about asking for sales and referrals. You can do it in an authentic way, and you don’t have to shout to be noticed online, but you definitely have to get comfortable with asking for exactly what you want.

About Kyla: Kyla Roma is a digital strategist and business coach who teaches gutsy small business owners, bloggers and creative entrepreneurs how to shake off uncertainty and confidently grow their business.

She helps clients uncover unexpected opportunities, create profitable systems, build community and double down on their strengths. The Best Advice from Leading Business Coaches for Women Entrepreneurs building a Successful Business: The more clear you are on who it is you're helping with what and listen to those who are seeking what you're offering, the easier it will be. - Hillary Rubin | MothersJoint.com

First give yourself permission to let go of the fight and it having to be hard. This way of being may have worked in the past. In order to sustain working for yourself it is important to enjoy the process of growth in yourself as well as your business. Working for yourself calls you to tune into your own information and know yourself. The inner game is uber important.

The more clear you are on who it is you're helping with what and listen to those who are seeking what you're offering, the easier it will be. I'm a big believer in following the breadcrumbs - see who is showing up then get feedback from your ideal customer in an old fashioned way - talk with them. Being a detective, being curious, allows you to listen and see what it is they are seeking then you can test it out, refine it and do your big launch. Doing this takes the guesswork out of it, allows it to be easier and fun.

I talk about this in my 5-part blog series The Art of Business for Coaches, and this is for anyone who is offering services.

About Hillary: Hillary Rubin, spiritual life and business coach, creator of The Art of Becoming a Coach training program and the e-course Meditate, Create & Liberate, helps women around the world create lasting change to live a more soul-fulfilling life. The Best Advice from Leading Business Coaches for Women Entrepreneurs building a Successful Business: By reminding yourself of the value you bring, you focus on reaching your goals instead of second guessing yourself. - Louisa Chan | MothersJoint.com

If you are struggling to build a successful business, it may be time to take a step back and reflect. Ask

  1. What difference were you seeking to make (or what value were you seeking to add to your clients?)
  2. What’s stopping you from doing that?
  3. What needs to change to make this happen?

By reminding yourself of the value you bring, you focus on reaching your goals instead of second guessing yourself.

By checking where your challenges lie (along with limitations) and what tweaks you need to make, you can draw up a plan to work through these issues.

The Best Advice from Leading Business Coaches for Women Entrepreneurs building a Successful Business: Stop being impatient and do the work. Believe in yourself and the difference you make in the lives of your clients. - Natasha Vorompiova | MothersJoint.com

Remember this: YOU ARE ENOUGH.

You already know enough to make a few steps that will take your business to the next level. All you have to do is to take the next step. Just the way you are, knowing what you know, having what you have.

Back when I was buying one online program after another, I realized that I wasn’t buying the information, I was trying to buy the confidence those business owners seemed to have in themselves and their products. I bet you can relate to this! They made me believe that once I had their program, things would magically be handled. But they never were. Not without my working hard at implementing their advice. Not without my putting a personal touch to their solution, so it would work for my business.

Stop being impatient and do the work. Believe in yourself and the difference you make in the lives of your clients.

The Best Advice from Leading Business Coaches for Women Entrepreneurs building a Successful Business: Do your startup homework. not having completed a full business plan is the most common reason that small businesses fail. - Roberta Cohen | MothersJoint.com

The most important counsel I would give to any new entrepreneur is to make sure she has done all her start-up homework! Research has shown that not having completed a full business plan is the most common reason that small businesses fail. If any steps have been skipped, the entrepreneur would be well advised to go back and complete them. Among other items, the business plan will include market and financial analyses and projections, management planning and an assessment of the business’ strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Consultants can be utilized to help with this process as necessary. This will truly put a business on the right track!

The Best Advice from Leading Business Coaches for Women Entrepreneurs building a Successful Business: Make time to not only to work on developing your business but to work on developing yourself. - Amanda Helena (Mandie) | MothersJoint.com

Invest as much time in your personal and spiritual development as you do in your business and professional development. Who you are in the world is as important as what you do, so be conscious of who you are becoming in the process of building your business. Create a vision for who you want to be. What are your qualities and priorities? What makes you proud? What inspires you? What example do you want to give your children? How do you nourish your body, mind and spirit? Then make the choices that align with your vision.

Make time to not only to work on developing your business but to work on developing yourself; a challenge for mothers who are already stretched in many directions! Make time to work on overcoming limiting beliefs and old patterns that unknowingly hold you back. Make time to develop your faith and resilience so you keep going despite obstacles. Make time to nurture and honour your needs so you have the best of yourself to share with your family and clients. Make time to connect to your inner wisdom so you are guided by a larger purpose and create from your heart.

This investment in you will flow into greater business success. It will shift your energy, raise your consciousness and awaken you into all of who you can be.

About Mandie: Amanda Helena (Mandie) is a vibrant speaker, writer, and mentor with a burning passion for supporting women to make a huge difference in the world. Business owners are bombarded by the latest marketing tactics and strategies and try to do too many things and then quit before they know what works. My advice is to select three marketing strategies that fit for you and then do them consistently. And to make sure that your marketing is effective, it’s critical that you first get really clear about who you are serving and what you are offering. It may sound too simple to be true but I see a lot of entrepreneurs overcomplicate it and end up frustrated. Get more detail on fireflycoaching.com

Be consistent. Pick three promotional methods with which you market your awesomeness and do them well.[Click to Tweet]

The Best Advice from Leading Business Coaches for Women Entrepreneurs building a Successful Business: Be consistent. Pick three promotional methods with which you market your awesomeness and do them well. - Monika Mundell | MothersJoint.com

I coach women in business, and I see one dominant issue that is stopping many of them from growing their business to a level that allows them to live life on their terms. Many give up too early. Some do because they have unrealistic expectations about business and think they can send one email to their list and if no one buys they simply... give up. Others send five emails and when they hear crickets they give up too. Well my friend, connecting with your dream client may take longer than you anticipate. Sometimes you have to send a year's worth of emails until someone buys, other times you get a client off a single email.

That of course is just an example for all of your marketing. The same applies to social media marketing, networking, follow up and everything else you do to spread the word about you. Fact is, you need to consistently connect with your tribe if you want to build trust + momentum. Momentum will give you the number of eyeballs you need to build trust with those that are dream clients who will pay you the profits you seek.

My advice? Be consistent. Pick three promotional methods with which you market your awesomeness and do them well. Example: Facebook ads, client nourishing + networking. Don't get sucked into subscribing to everything you encounter. Focus on doing the three things well and consistently and your business will rock!

Marketing is as simple as having a conversation! Get clear on who you're talking to, what real benefits you offer. [Click to Tweet]

The Best Advice from Leading Business Coaches for Women Entrepreneurs building a Successful Business: Marketing is as simple as having a conversation! Get clear on who you're talking to, what real benefits you offer. - Shannon Bush | MothersJoint.com

One thing that I find is a big challenge and the missing piece for oodles of entrepreneurs is a lack of clarity around your ideal client and the true benefit that the work you do offers to those ideal clients. Something many, many women in business get caught up in is thinking that you can help everyone and anyone. While that might be true in theory, when you try to do this you'll struggle with your marketing and connecting with those gorgeous souls who really want what you have to offer.

Think of it like this, when you get sick you want to visit the best specialist you can afford. It's human nature to want to work with or be supported by, or buy from someone who offers something we really want or need, someone who offers the actual solution to our problem, issue or challenge. You don't go to any old Doctor who might be able to help you when you are sick. The same happens for your ideal clients and customers. They want what you have to offer but if you are telling them, via your marketing, that you can help anyone and everyone, they won't be sure it is for them, they may become confused or overwhelmed and with that they are less likely to invest. When you don't know who you are talking to the conversation becomes very awkward.

Marketing is as simple as having a conversation! Get clear on who you're talking to, what real benefits you offer (a benefit is the promise that things can and will be different, not how often you will work with them or the price of your product - they are just features and won't engage people) and then have great conversations by sharing your message clearly and consistently to your audience.

About Shannon: You know how many entrepreneurs struggle to thrive? Well I work closely with brilliantly capable service providers teaching you how to actually market products and services to your ideal clients eagerly waiting to invest! Most times we get really attached to our business in a really ‘feminine way’. It’s hard to let go of something that does not work because we see it as failure. I developed a thick skin, and when I see something is not working, after trying to tweak and adjust, I follow what my customers ultimately are asking for. It can be hard, but this is how businesses achieve success. Be attached to the vision, the message, the idea, but not the outcome. That is for the world to take and mould into a perfect shape.
